For years, the University of Iowa has maintained a tradition of giving a supportive home to artists. Many of these
students in turn create works that continue to breathe new life into the conversation that is contemporary art.
Think of each of these pieces as a conversation, with each artist involved bringing their own individual tone and
texture to the table. What you see here is hopefully the first of many such conversations. Each print was created
by a member of the University of Iowa Painting/Drawing program working with a poet from the Iowa Writers'
workshop. By purchasing this edition, you have helped to ensure that we will be able to continue the project and
allow more artists a chance for their voice to be heard in a new and exciting way.
